MockWire is a local macOS app. It runs entirely on your Mac. It has no user accounts, no servers, and no cloud component. Your intercepted traffic, mock data, certificates, and AI-generated content never leave your machine.
~/Library/Application Support/MockWire. They stay on your device.MockWire performs a "man-in-the-middle" of HTTPS traffic that you explicitly route through it, using a Root CA you generate and trust on your own machine or Simulators. This is the same mechanism used by developer proxies like Charles and Proxyman. Only traffic you direct through MockWire's proxy is decrypted. You can remove the trusted CA at any time from Keychain Access.
MockWire does not include third-party tracking or advertising. If anonymous, opt-in usage metrics are added in a future version, they will be disclosed here and clearly toggleable in the app.
License purchases are handled by our payment processor (e.g. Gumroad / Lemonsqueezy / Paddle). Your payment details are handled by them under their own privacy policy; MockWire receives only the information needed to issue and validate your license.
